City-Info Königs Wusterhausen

Schloss von Königs Wusterhausen

Tolerance and hospitality are the driving force for voluntary activities relating the current refugee situation in Königs Wusterhausen. The city understands itself as a place where people from all cultural backgrounds are welcome. Since march 2015, a municipal coordination team takes care of developing and realizing a concept for the accommodation and integration of refugees.

At the moment about 100 asylum seeking families live in rented flats of WoBauGe. Since October another 170 asylum seekers have been placed at an emergency accommodation which is situated in a hall of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund in Zeesen.

Furthermore, 85 spots are going to be set up in a communal accommodation in Uckley. Two other locations are considered at the moment: the former juvenile detention center with about 80 places and the former daycare center in Zeesen with 60 places. Both locations are inspected and checked for their suitability at the moment. After necessary constructional modifications, these objects would be available from the end of 2015 / the beginning of 2016.
